The Pittsburgh Steelers  VS

Super Bowl XLV will certainly be one for the ages, if for no other reason than the history that follows the two participants. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers collectively own a total of 18 NFL Championships (that includes pre-Super Bowl), but they had not met in a Super Bowl prior to the 2010 season. All that changes on February 6, when they will be fighting for the NFL Championship at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
On paper, both the Packers and Steelers appear to be quite evenly matched. They both have very stingy defenses (the Packers led by linebacker Clay Matthews, and the Steelers led by strong safety Troy Polamalu and linebacker James Harrison) all three players finished in the top 5 in Defensive Player of the Year voting). Both teams also have explosive offenses that can score at will. The teams however are worlds apart in philosophy the Packers are more of a passing team, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receivers Greg Jennings and Donald Driver. While the Steelers are  a running team with players like behind tailback Rashard Mendenhall.  In fact, the winner will probably be decided not by talent, but by pure experience in the big game. The Steelers, and head coach Mike Tomlin, will be appearing in their third Super Bowl in the last six years, while the Packers are in their first one since the 1997 season.
This year’s installment of the Super Bowl will be an intense defensive struggle, but it will be very fun to watch. Though the Packers come in as favorites, I believe that the Steelers will come out victorious, with a score of 17-13. Either way, it’ll be quite the ride.

The Green Bay Packers

A guy decided to bring his new girlfriend to a football game. After the game is over, he asked her if she liked the game.
She replied, "Oh it was great, I loved watching those men in tight clothes, but there is one thing I don't understand."
"What did you not understand?" He asked.
The girl replied, "Well, at the beginning of the game, both teams flipped a quarter to see who would kick off first. Then the rest of the game everybody was yelling get the quarter back, get the quarter back, get the quarter back. So I thought to myself, gosh it's just a quarter!”
If we’re being honest this is about my level of football knowledge. I honest to goodness learned to play football freshmen year for powder puff mainly by going to http://tinyurl.com/4ny9nft.
However, the good thing with the super bowl is that no matter how little you understand football is about having fun, and being with friends, more than knowing what the offensive line is. That’s why I picked the Green Bay Packers as my team to win the super bowl (and no it wasn’t because they have pretty green and gold jerseys). It’s because their team is one of the few still owned by the fans, not some company C.E.O. They more than any other team in the NFL (including the Steelers) keep in touch with, and compete for the fans. Those fans in turn have remained loyal, even in different states. Anna Kasper said, “ I have been a packer fan my whole life. It's in my blood. As we say in my house "I may live in Michigan but I bleed green and gold."
That loyalty and hard work by the team and support  by fans  has definitely paid off. As displayed by their 12 championships wins (including pre-super bowl), which is more than any other team in NFL history.
With a record like that and loyal fans all over the nation cheering for them. I know the Packers will be taking home superbowl rings this year, which is why this Sunday I will be sporting green and gold.
